Join us mother’s day weekend for a yoga hike meet up at poo poo point

Bring your mom as an early Mother’s Day gift, or leave the kids with family and come with friends!

HIKE

We’ll gather at the Poo Poo Point Chirico Trailhead parking lot at 8am for coffee and tea. At 8:30am we’ll hike together to the first clearing/viewpoint, about 1.6 miles from the trailhead. We’ll set up our yoga mats at the first large clearing.

The total hike is 3.2 miles round-trip with ~1700 ft. elevation gain (“short and steep”), with an optional 1/2 mile more to the second viewpoint. As needed, we can break into smaller groups to respect the trail and support different paces.

More info on the trail here: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/poo-poo-point-chirico-trail.

YOGA

At the clearing we’ll move through a 60 minute slow-flow Vinyasa yoga practice, focusing on strengthening, stretching, breathing, and connecting to nature. The yoga practice is all-levels – designed for beginner and experienced yogis alike! With any luck, we’ll enjoy views of Mt. Rainier from the top.

After our yoga session, we’ll hike back down and enjoy snacks, water and tea/coffee in the parking area.

MEET UP DETAILS

Space is limited to 30 participants. The meet up fee goes toward the yoga instruction, with 5% of proceeds donated to Washington Trail Association. We’ll also hook you up with coffee/tea/snacks/smiles before and after the yoga hike. We’ll meet up rain or shine. In severe/unsafe weather, I will reschedule the meet up and/or offer a yoga credit to all registered guests to attend a future yoga hike.

What to Bring: A yoga mat, a towel (for under or over your mat, especially if it’s a little wet out), hiking shoes, clothes comfortable for hiking and yoga (layers highly recommended), water, and lunch or snacks. More tips on what to bring will be emailed out to registered participants prior to the event.

I have two scholarships available, please email me at pnwoutdooryoga@gmail.com and tell me a little bit about yourself to request a scholarship.

ABOUT CHRISTINA

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200), passionate about combining community, yoga, and the outdoors. I look forward to hosting several yoga hike meet-ups this spring, summer, and fall. When not in the mountains, you can find me teaching at local yoga studios around the Seattle, Eastside, and Everett areas.

FINE PRINT

Registrations and yoga meet up fees are non-refundable, however they are exchangeable from one person to another.  In the event the meet up is cancelled or postponed due to severe weather, I will happily provide a credit for a future outdoor yoga meet up. All meet up attendees are required to sign a waiver to participate. The hike meet up and yoga class are at your own risk. The hike is not a guided hike, we will simply meet up and hike together to the yoga location. Waivers will be emailed to registered participants, or available day-of to sign.
