HIKE

We’ll gather at the Barclay Lake trailhead at 8:00am. At 8:15am we’ll hike the 2.2 miles to the lake. This hike has gentle elevation, gaining just 500ft over 2 miles. There are some switchbacks, but most of the hike is flat or gentle incline. It is a beautiful forested hike, with stunning views of mountains, forest, and the alpine lake.

As needed, we can break into smaller groups to respect the trail and support different paces.

YOGA

When we arrive at the lake, we will set up our mats on the sandy shore or under the canopy of the trees. The yoga practice will be a 60 minute slow-flow Vinyasa yoga practice, focusing on strengthening, stretching, breathing, and connecting to nature. The yoga practice is all-levels – designed for beginner and experienced yogis alike!

MEET UP DETAILS

Space is limited. There is a suggested meet up fee (toward meet up group organization & yoga instruction), with 5% of proceeds donated to Washington Trail Association. If money is a barrier in any way, please sign up under the scholarship/community option! I also bring coffee/tea/snacks/smiles to share. We’ll meet up rain or shine. In severe/unsafe weather, I will reschedule or cancel the meet up – if you’ve contributed (paid) toward the meet up, I’ll transfer the contribution to another meet up or refund.

What to bring: Your own yoga mat, a towel (for under or over your mat, especially if it’s a little wet out), hiking shoes, clothes comfortable for hiking and yoga (layers highly recommended), water, and lunch or additional snacks. More tips on what to bring will be emailed out prior to the meet up.

ABOUT CHRISTINA

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200), passionate about combining community, yoga, and the outdoors. I look forward to hosting several yoga hike meet-ups this spring, summer, and fall. When not in the mountains, you can find me teaching at local yoga studios around the Seattle, Eastside, and Everett areas.

FINE PRINT

In the event the meet up is cancelled or postponed due to severe weather, or if a minimum of 5 people are not signed up, I will provide a credit or refund for a future outdoor yoga meet up. All meet up attendees are required to sign a waiver to participate. The hike meet up and yoga practice are at your own risk. The hike is not a guided hike and the meet up is open to all, we will simply meet up and hike together to the yoga location. Waivers will be emailed to registered participants, or available day-of to sign.
