Yoga Hike :: Ebey’s Landing (Whidbey Is.) July 20

  • July 20, 2019
    10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Let’s Meet up on Saturday July 20 for a yoga hike at Ebey’s Landing (Whidbey Is.)

Hike: “Easy/intermediate” 5.6 miles (round-trip) with minimal elevation gain (260ft)

Yoga: 60 minute all-levels Vinyasa yoga class

Date/Time: Saturday July 20, 10am – 2pm

HIKE

We’ll gather at the lower (beach trail) Ebey’s Landing parking lot/trailhead at 10:00am for coffee and tea. At 10:30am we’ll hike along the beautiful bluff and enjoy the stunning views of the ocean and Olympics. This hike has just a bit of elevation climb (and descent) on either end of the bluff, other than that it is fairly flat. The descent down to the beach is steep (hiking polls are helpful for tender knees!). When we reach the beach, we’ll set up our yoga mats and enjoy yoga before hiking back along the beach/lagoon.

YOGA

When we arrive at the end of the bluff, we will set up our mats on the beach. The yoga practice will be a 60 minute slow-flow Vinyasa yoga practice, focusing on strengthening, stretching, breathing, and connecting to nature. The yoga practice is all-levels – designed for beginner and experienced yogis alike!

MEET UP DETAILS

Space is limited to 20 participants. The meet up fee goes toward the yoga instruction, with 5% of proceeds donated to Washington Trail Association. We’ll also hook you up with coffee/tea/snacks/smiles before and after the yoga hike. We’ll meet up rain or shine. In severe/unsafe weather, I will reschedule the meet up and/or offer a yoga credit to all registered guests to attend a future yoga hike.

What to bring: Your own yoga mat, a towel (for under or over your mat, especially if it’s a little wet out), hiking/beach shoes, clothes comfortable for hiking and yoga (layers highly recommended), sunscreen, water, and lunch or additional snacks. More tips on what to bring will be emailed out to registered participants prior to the event.

I have two scholarships available to anyone who wants/needs one, please email me at pnwoutdooryoga@gmail.com and tell me a little bit about yourself to request a scholarship.

All meet up attendees are required to sign a waiver to participate. The hike meet up and yoga class are at your own risk. The hike is not a guided hike, we will simply meet up and hike together to the yoga location. Waivers will be emailed to registered participants, or available day-of to sign.
