Let’s Meet Up Wednesday Aug 14 for a Sunset Hike & Beach Yoga at Meadowdale Trail
Hike: “Intermediate” 2.5 miles, round-trip, with some elevation gain and stairs (425ft) on the way back up
Yoga: 60 minute all-levels Vinyasa yoga class beachside
Date/Time: Wednesday Aug 14, 6:30pm – 9pm
Age Recommendation: 8 years+ (see FAQs for questions about bringing little ones or dogs)
HIKE
We’ll gather at the Meadowdale Beach trailhead, also known as Lund’s Gulch, (Edmonds/Lynnwood) at 6:30pm. At 6:45pm we’ll hike the 1.25 miles down to the beach through a beautiful forested trail. The hike is short, with some switchbacks and stairs, but overall a good beginner/intermediate hike.
When we arrive at the beach, we’ll set up our mats on the beach (sandy and flat shore). The yoga practice will be a 60 minute slow-flow Vinyasa yoga practice, focusing on strengthening, stretching, breathing, and connecting to nature. We’ll get a little sandy as we breathe and flow with the ocean and a sunset as the backdrop to our yoga practice.
Bring your own yoga mat, or simply a large pool towel. The sun will be setting during our practice, and we’ll enjoy the final sunset before hiking back up to our cars. The yoga practice is all-levels – designed for beginner and experienced yogis alike!
MEET UP DETAILS
Space is limited! The suggested meet up fee goes toward the yoga instruction and meet up organization, with 5% of proceeds donated to Washington Trail Association. I’ll also bring sparkling water/tea (or hot cocoa)/snacks/smiles to share before and after the hike. We’ll meet up rain or shine. In severe/unsafe weather, I will reschedule the meet up and/or offer a yoga credit (or refund) to attend a future meet up.
What to bring: Your own yoga mat (or a large towel), a towel (for under or over your mat, especially if it’s a little wet out), shoes & clothes comfortable for hiking and yoga (layers highly recommended), water, and any additional snacks or beverages. More tips on what to bring will be emailed out to registered participants prior to the event.
I strongly believe in the outdoors and yoga for all! As such, the suggested meet up fee/contribution is just that – a suggestion! If cost is a barrier in any way, please sign up under the “scholarship/community” sign up option.
